Interview with Matt Lowe of Season 1, Episode 3 of Catfish

Matt LoweThanks Matt Lowe (who appeared in Season 1, Episode 3 of Catfish the TV Show) for personally responding to our questions and for being the first to enthusiastically agree to the "interview."

Q. In general, how was your experience appearing on Catfish?

A. Appearing on Catfish was an overall great experience. I'm into video editing and the film industry in general and being able to see how a show was filmed and the equipment they used was awesome! I had different emotions running thru me with being nervous about meeting Kim, nervous about being filmed and also excitement from seeing how it was all done. Meeting the entire camera crew, producers and Max and Nev was fantastic!

Q. If you had it to do over, would you still appear on the show?

A. I would definitely do it if I had a do over. It changed my life for the better!

Q. How has your life been impacted or changed by the show? (positively or negatively)

A. My life has been changed positively and in a major way. I've been able to connect with a lot of people who went thru or that are going thru similar things to what I went thru. I have been able to help people out and also get motivated from many messages and comments from people all over the world. Of course there are always the negative people but I've connected with so many positive that the negative get washed out anyway.

Q. What's new in your life since the show or what are you doing now?

A. Since the show I have been working on moving to L.A. and continuing my weight loss. I plan on working on my weight loss documentary while in L.A. and hopefully posting that soon for everyone to see.

Q. What tips or warnings do you have for others in online relationships?

A. For online dating I would advise that they be very careful. Obviously from the show you can see that people sometimes aren't who they say they are. I advise being careful when meeting up with them in person because you never know. I also advise people to not be afraid of online dating as well. Sometimes people are busy and can't find time to go out to functions to meet new people. Online dating can be successful - you just have to be cautious about it.

Q. Is there anything else you'd like to tell your Catfish fans?

A. I would love to tell fans that they can connect with me via twitter @fattunit or my fanpage on or personal facebook at I'm always willing to talk to anyone and that means in person as well!
